Who is this course for?
Suggested starting ages: 6–12 — roughly Grades 1–7; older first-time users can also begin here.
These are placement guides, not strict entry limits. We consider confidence, interests and prior experience during the free trial.
Prerequisites
No computer experience is required. Lessons start with simple actions and progress at the child’s pace.
What you need
A laptop or desktop with a keyboard and mouse or trackpad, plus a stable internet connection.
What your child will learn
- Recognise common computer parts and use the mouse and keyboard confidently.
- Create, name, save and organise files and folders.
- Use a browser and search for information with adult guidance.
- Recognise basic online safety habits and when to ask a trusted adult for help.
Example projects
Projects are adjusted to the learner’s pace. Examples may include:
- Create and organise a folder for school subjects.
- Type and format a short “About Me” document.
- Make a simple presentation about a favourite topic.

Should my child learn computer basics before coding?
It is helpful if using the mouse, keyboard or files is still difficult. A confident computer user may be able to start a coding course directly.
Is this only for young children?
No. The starting age range is a guide; an older learner can use these lessons to fill gaps in practical computer skills.
